Try this:
When booting up, right after the Gateway logo (usually there is a beep) press the F8 key a few times, it should bring up a menu. Arrow down to "VGA Mode", and hit enter. If it brings you to anothe rmenu where you can select windows, hit enter again. That should reset your video settings so you can see it again. If it doesn't work, then you probably have corrupt drivers. You can try "Last Known Good Configuration" from the menu, too.
