It can take most heathly couple up to a year to get pregnant.

I am in your same boat. I have a 5 (soon to be 6) year old daughter from a previous relationship. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant with no luck :(

I would visit your doctor and let them know you are trying to conceive. They will do a pre-pregnancy check up and should included bloodwork to make sure all your hormones are at the right levels to achieve pregnancy.

Start a prenatal vitamin as well.

Have you been on birth control? What kind? You will have to give it time for birth control to get out of your system, if you were on any. Like there Depo shot, it can take up to 18 months to totally clear your system.

Are your periods regular? You could try ovulation tests to help you better determine when you should ovulate.

You are getting close to the "year mark" that most doctors ask you to reach before they step in to start testing you and your partner and step in to help.

What methods have you been trying?

Yes, I would definitely suggest going to the doctor.

I have irregular periods, that is what made it hard to determine when I would ovulate, or weather I was even fertile that month. My OBGYN put me on a medication called Prometrium that I take 10 days every month. This regulates my cycle. After doing that and still not getting pregnant I started tracking my BBT and using ovulation kits. When it was close to a year of trying I went back in to see her. She had my husband do a sperm test, which was fine. And ran some more labs on me... which came back fine. She then put me on Clomid (a med that makes you ovulate). This is my first month on that med, so hopefully it works!

Good luck, hang in there :)
