    Guests on Jerry Springer show
Are the guests on the Springer show real people or just poor incompetent actors? And do they pay them to come on the show and be humiliated like this?

And no I do not watch that show, someone I know asked me this :)

OK I do sometimes lol but just for a short while to check where our modern society is headed. I watch it more to observe the audience than the show. They are actually more sick than the guests themselves.

Back in the late 90's there was a "scandal" where is was found that the show was hiring actors to come in and be outlandish guests. At the time, the show's producers said they were an entertainment program, not a talk show.

I can't say how the show is positioning itself now, but I highly doubt the practice of bringing in actors has changed all that much...

I have not seen Jerry Springer in maybe 6 years. It got so that I could not believe people actually did all that. Who could really keep a secret dungeon in their basement with two sex slaves and the wife and the kids not hear anything going on? No bathroom in the basement either. I figured it was all show and no go on the reality. Would not surprise me if those wackos were actors. Maybe The Maury Show does the same thing. Anything for ratings.

I think most of it is staged. Actually if they were willing to pay me $50,000 or whatever the guests get for a 1/2 hour TV performance I might be willing to go on stage and ham it up too!

Jerry Springer was the Mayor of Cincinnati Ohio, got caught paying a Northern Kentucky prostitute with a check. Hmm I'd say some of the guest may be real. My children say they go to school with a girl that has been a guest on the Maury Show, something to the effect that she wanted to have a baby.

This is basically true. Initially the Jerry Springer Show was an ordinary talk show. Then one day he featured a member of the Ku Klux Klan (or similar racist group) and a Black Panther (or similar militant organization) and a fight spontaneously broke out between the two guests. That shot the ratings way up, so they began staging fights on the show in order to keep the ratings up.

I heard Jerry Springer say on a talk show that his guest are real people and that they do go through a rehearsal before the show just like every other talk show does. Then what you see on stage is not staged but not exactly what was rehearsed, but the people and the situations are real.

I think most of the pplk are real, one of the most recent guest were he was a man and dressed like a woman and cut off his legs. Well jerry came on this local radio station I listen to 94.1wysp.. KIDD chris show. And talked about that guest, and how he was mentally disturb blah blah. So I think most of it is real, and they do hype up the guest before they go out on stage, They even addmit that, they kind of tell them how to react and go out there blazing mad. They had a show on vh1 or something, that should the behind the scenes of jerry. I still watch it cause I have a thing for idiots that fight.lol
