    MM: Snowblower almost fixed
    Snowblower is 30+ years old.

Well, this weekend I got the new plastic tank and it wouldn't fit, so I had to make new brackets.

Took apart the carb. Cleaned it again. Added the hose, brass 90 degree fitting and fuel cut valve. Engine now starts and runs, as opposed to flood, because of rust from the tank holding the inlet open.

Painted the engine and the handle. Painted the chain guard a few weeks ago. I still have some painting yet to do.

Oil filler plug and gasket have to be replaced. It's cross threaded. Anyone know of a Tecumseh dip stick retrofit?

I got the wrong Woodruff key or in this case a Hypo key so the clutch doesn't work. The clutch is tricky. Once I get this part, I should be back in business. If I add some more paint and it will be good as new.

I have a what if question. If the intake and/or discharge chute were lined (epoxied with) with 0.005" bondable teflon, would it improve performance? If I did one, which one would you pick?

Not for sure kiss. I don't have a need for the snow blowers here.

    MM:

When I find out about the Woodruff and the Hypro keys, I'll let you know. Sears got $2.16 for two HyPro keys that was in a Woodruff Key bag. Apparently there are two types of Woodruff keys (flat and round bottoms).

HyPro keys from a MFR are $6.25 each. Lets hope there is a difference. They are going to be pricey with shipping and minimum order requirements.

I did find 7/32 x 1-1/4" roll pins/tension pins on the net, but not locally. That size is difficult. i tried a couple of hydraulic places and Home depot. They had them, but not the right size.

I ordered aftermarket "discontinued" oil filler plug Tecumseh parts online as well. Hopefully I ordered a dipstick that will fit.

I also found various, probably eroneous information, on the web as well. That a 344433C will fit an H35 engine. The pics I have show an under the flywheel coil, whereas the internet pictures are external. Some list the engine, some don't.

My local dealer suggests that if the coil is internal, electronic ignition is not available. This I might be inclined to agree with. I haven't taken it apart, so I don't know. I have a strong spark anyway.

So, I guess I'll know in a couple of weeks.

At this point the engine runs with a new tank.

    You can't fix anything anymore.

Snowblower is functional. It will clear snow. Starts on the second pull and had an oil change and the wheels are now moving.

I need too modify (shorten) a dip stick to work. I need an aircraft nut. I also need some paint.
