I have a 1997 huskee riding mower but it won't go in reverse. Drive belt seems to be OK. Would it be the transmission?

Possibly, do the other gears work okay?
Yes all the other gears work fine.
I need information on an MTD riding lawn tractor
What causes the drive belt to come off an MTD lawn tractor when trying to go in reverse?
Could be improper routing of the belt, or an idler tensioner pulley spring is broken, or missing.Quote:
