Hi, my last period was 16th of August and I have now missed two periods. I took a test but it was negative. Could I still be pregnant? Help.:confused:

Yes, you can still be pregnant. HPTs are notorious for false negatives especially if not used with first morning urine. It would be in your best interest to get a blood test at your doctor.

It was first morning urine, I have had very light bleeding (pinky coloured) on and off for the last 5 days but it has stopped now could this have been my period?

It very well could have been your period. Sometimes our body plays terrible tricks on us. How long ago did you test? It may be time for a re-test if it wasn't recently.

I tested this morning

I only noticed the blood when I wiped it wasn't enough to use a tampon.

My periods are VERY VERY light... I don't need a tampon, barely even a pantyliner! That's normal for me, but sometimes out of the blue I will get a "normal flow" period.

To ease your mind, I would suggest going to the doctor and getting a blood test to make sure.

You can get a false negative with the at home tests, but not a false positive. I would test again tomorrow morning. Either way, go to a walk in clinic for a blood or a urine test and you will have your true results in minutes. Good Luck!
