I think anyone who watches Fox news can tell they have their biases, opposite the prevailing news media biases.

That is their appeal. And they are the only "conservative " network c/w abc, cbs, abc, ccn etc.

    - with judicial nominees abortion is an issue on both sides.

    - calling snipers, sharpshooters to support the military is a more accurate term than calling homicide bombers, "suicide" bombers.

    - 9 11 commission involved both Bush and Clinton - this piece emphasized "watergate"

    - this piece gets opinions from their competitors or media matters, msnbc,

The competition - i.e. the liberal news - is jealous about Fox News' success.

Now the discriminating person, will get info from both sides and decide.

I thought the "shut up" piece on Bill O'Reilly was hilarious.

I can't view You tube on the computer I'm on . Suffice it to say that anyone who gets news from a single source is limiting themselves. I go under the assumptions that all news reported is filtered through someone's lense.

Regarding "sharpshooters", there is a very important technical difference between a sharpshooter and a sniper.

A sniper is a sharpshooter who has been trained to a very high level in infiltation. He is a "sneak specialist", capable of getting close to a taget without being seen. He is also trained in endurance, so that he can sneak into an area, dig a small, invisible hole to hide in, and stay there for literally days without moving a muscle or falling asleep so that he can take his shot and then exfiltrate. A sharpshooter can shoot, but he has none of the infiltration skills of the sniper. So there is a very real difference in the capabilities of snipers and sharpshooters. Very few sharpshooters have sniper training.

The "Beltway Snipers" should really have been called the "Beltway Sharpshooters". Neither of them were snipers, though both had sharpshooting skills.

Generally speaking, FOX's use of the term sharpshooter rather than sniper is correct, and the other networks are technically wrong. Except, of course, in cases where a REAL sniper, one with real sniper skills, is involved. There are actually very few fully trained snipers among the enemy. Most so-called snipers are really sharpshooters. As far as I know, al Qaeda does not have any sniper trainers among their ranks, but they do have a few sharpshooters.

Put differently, all snipers are sharpshooters, but not all sharpshooters are snipers.

From another perspective, from what is presented in the YouTube film it could rightfully said that fox news is more like a sniper than a sharpshooter, that is, the reporters all follow a training that is the focus of a pre-determined plan.

Yeah, “Fair and Balanced” is a contradiction of the true meaning of both fair or balanced. :D

All I know is that it takes someone like Ruppert Murdoch to take on the likes of Pinch Sulzberger of the old grey lady ,the NY Slimes.

Even if Fox is as biased as is being claimed ,it is one of the few formats where debate is encouraged in most of it's programing . What is it up against ? The 3 networks ;PBS ,the other alphabet soup cable-casts?. Which one of these do you claim is unbiased ?

Anyone who thinks that the news broadcasts are for unbiased information and are not primarily entertainment venues are living in a bygone world that probably never existed .

Fox News is not news, it is entertainment and right wing propaganda of the worst kind.

OF note: the dramatic music and large colorful headlines blaring out at you from your TV making your guts clench!! Pure viceral fearmongering and manipulation. Fox is good for just plain lying, too. For example, if a Republican congressman is caught having sex with a child, they put a big Dem on their identify scroll! LOL I have seen it myself. I have also seen Jon Stewart play Fox News tapes showing lies.

The network news is merely moderate reporting, so moderate and cutesy it is irrelevant. It is dying out as I type.

Yeah…I'm tired of 'parachute' journalists who lob grenades and then move on to another jump. For that matter you can apply the same analogy to Politics'

Two words, Dan Rather. In other words, this is all 'rather' amusing. It seems an entire industry has sprung up to demonize Fox News. Perhaps it's just the media version of BDS - Fox News Derangement Syndrome. I honestly believe those suffering from this debilitating affliction watch the likes of Countdown with Keith Olbermann and read the NY Times and can find NO bias - all the while whining about the evils of Fox' conservative slant, lol.

Of course FNC has a conservative slant, Roger Ailes is the president. It was begun precisely to offer an alternative to the establishment liberal media, and the reality of their success is just too much for the left to handle. Don't believe me?

I hear a little Xanax can ease the anxiety...
