My sister in law has been committed to a mental institute. She is having some depression issues. Without giving all the long details that have lead up to her being committed, how can we get her out? She was committed by some guy that barely even knows her. He called 911 while she was at his house, saying she was trying to drown herself in the tub. When the ambulance got there he was holding her down. Anyway, they took this guys word that she needs to be committed, didn't even tell my mother in law that they were taking her. The hospital is forcing her to take meds, that are making her pretty much disconnected, and totally out of it. I am not saying that she doesn't need some kind of meds, but being doped up and not knowing what is going on she doesn't need. There has got to be some way to get her out of there. Our family already has a lawyer, but we are scared that the hospital may continue they're overtreatment until she gets out of there. What can we do?
