Medical Abortion Your Urgent Assistance Needed
    Hi -

I am in very early pregnancy (4 weeks) and I have misoprostol medication already (for treatment of ulcers). I have not taken the misoprostol since I have been pregnant but am considering using it to induce my own abortion. I need to know which dosage I should take to induce it myself and the effectiveness of such medication. I have heard you can induce abortion by using misoprostol alone. I do not have access to the first medication taken in a medical abortion (mifeprex). It is too expensive and I have no providers within 6 hours drive to receive it. So I must induce this abortion on my own. I have tried to ask doctors in my area, left messages with their nurses but no calls back. I am getting ignored. Please don't judge; I was on birth control pill and used it correctly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.s. I already have a friend willing to stay at home with me while I take the medication. I am 26 years old and absolutely cannot go on with this pregnancy due to very personal circumstances.

Please, please do not induce this abortion yourself. You need to do it under the care of a doctor. If you do it on your own, it could go horribly wrong, especially if you don't have all the meds you need. Have you contacted Planned Parenthood? If there isn't one close to you, there are other options. You could try calling the Health Department, a local hospital, a clinic for the uninsured, and so on. Get a phone book and start calling organizations. There are other abortion options for you other than a self-induced abortion. It is NOT SAFE to do it on your own. You could also contact the YWCA, a women's shelter, or maybe even social services could put you in touch with someone. It is better to wait a few days or weeks and have a safe, professional abortion than try to play doctor on your own. It will not work right without both medicines and without the proper dosage of each. If nothing else, walk right into a local hospital and tell them what you are thinking about doing. I am positive someone will help you. If they can't help you at the hospital, they can put you in touch with people who will. Please don't do this on your own, it just isn't safe. I know this probably isn't what you were hoping to hear, but I hope it helps. Remember-there IS help out there.

It is not safe to do it yourself, you can and will be putting your own life at risk.

You will not get answers on how to do this from any doctor, nurse or the internet. This drug MUST be combined with a different drug, a very expensive chemotherapy drug, to produce an abortion. And that is still under investigation and has not been proven to work.

This is a pregnancy category (X) drug which will cause birth defects.

I have had a medical abortion many years ago, I can tell you there is nothing pleasant about it and although you are sure you want to go through with it, there is always the mental aspect, I no you must won't rid but this is definitely not the way to do it. You need to get help for a proffessional, you could end up bleeding out or anything, you could do yourself more damage so that you may never fall pregnant again. Let alone how your head will be. Also in the uk they don't normally do this until you are 8 weeks, please be so careful and think of your own safety. Seek proper help it is not worth the risk
