Good Day... this question deals with the soundtrack to the movie "Stir Crazy" with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor... In the movie there is a part where the big fat dude sings a song while they are in their jail cell (I think the tune is called "Farther Along") but it sounds like a gospel tune or whatever, but I like the way he sang it (if HE even sang it)... I need to know WHO sang or if it is on the soundtrack, and if so, what is the song called?

You maybe referring to the song "Down in the valley". Erland Van Lidth is the actor that played Grossberger. He could actually sing. However It is not his voice that was used in the film. He appeared many times at the well-known Amato Opera in New York.
