    Can't get justice
My ex-husband attacked me in my vehicle while I was picking up our 15 yo daughter from High School(03-2007). We share custody 50/50. Ex is a Deputy Sheriff. My 3yo daughter from current marriage was also in the vehicle. Ex pounded on the window and yelled obscenities. Once ex backed off I went home. Ex showed at my home. Neighbor witnessed my ex verbally attack me in my driveway and called the Sheriff's. A deputy & Sergeant completely blew off my request for an arrest, claimed no damage to vehicle. The police report was a joke, so was second one from a Detective. I filed for restraining order & mod of exchange to a secure local in 05-2007. Ex made false allegations: alcohol abuse & domestic violence against myself & 2nd husband. Ex claims been going on since 2005. He's a mandiatory reporter. Ex doesn't request full custody. In Aug. Judge appoints Minors Council, orders restraining orders against & no drinking for both parties. Ex calls DCFS in June. DCFS investigates & reports all claims as "unfounded". Minors Council reports no evidence for change in custody. We return to court mid Nov. What recourse do I have against my EX? His behavior as a deputy? He put our daughter through hell. Excessive costs? What about the Sheriff's not doing their duty? Thanks!

What is described is about normal for most bad divorces and child custody cases, Since he did not phsycially hurt you, and if there was no actual damage to the car, in general he would not have been arrested for yelling and cursing at you. A few places may have done distrubing the peace but in general they write it us as domestic issues and unless there is phsical harm litle is done.

Have you filed formal complaints against him with the department ?
But putting the other side though "hell" is just about normal in most custody situations.

The fact that he is a an officer of the law and seems to be a bit unstable, I would get a hold of the internal affairs division in your area and have them at least review the problems you are having. It would help you in regards to the other police being policed and following procedure. My X was dating a cop and had lied to him, and it caused me a great deal of grief, then I went to the internal affairs division with a letter (or notes} and had the gentleman read it. He confronted the proper people and it eventually got back to the sourse of the problem and things changed.

If I were you I'd get a new friend (rent a cop) and get my power back.. or move away from your ex's police jurisdiction just to be safe.Another county wouldn't put up with it.
