    What is a quiet title?
I was searching my father in laws name online trying to find contact information for him.(My husband and him haven't spoken in about 16 yrs) and I found a court case on Missouri's online court records website.

The heading is listed - HH LLC V TIMOTHY XXXXX ET AL.

Under "case type" it states CC Quiet Title.

Under parties and attorneys it has HH LLC as plaintiff.

It list Timothy XXXXX as the first defendant. And then it list my father in law and his siblings as other defendants.

What does the ET AL at the end of Timothy XXXXX's name and what is a quiet title?

    Thank You.

'et al' after the name means 'and others' and action to quiet title is a lawsuit brought in a court having jurisdiction over land disputes, in order to establish a party's title to real property against anyone and everyone, and thus "quiet" any challenges or claims to the title.
