Working as a Doctor/Physician Abroad (from U.S.)
Hello. My husband is a retired MD (ObGyn) in the U.S. I am 2o years younger and a retired (I'm 42) journalist. We love traveling, but also want to do something meaningful with our lives and earn a little money too keep traveling.
We have been looking into doing medical work in Saudi Arabia, Ireland etc.
My question is: Are there places in the world you can work as a doctor, with an MD degree from a reputable Medical School like George Washington Medical School in DC, without needing a current license from a state in the U.S. The fees for continuing education, medical mal practice insurance and licensing for DEA and the board of medicine are sky-rocketing.
We are willing to go anywhere in the world. We love seeing other parts of the world, but are not "rich" enough to maintain our traveling lifestyle, hence needing to go back to work. We thought with my husbands excellent surgical and medical skills, surely there is a place where we (he) can work and also enjoy a new experience.
Thank you very much!
