My boyfriend is in loss prevention for a retail store.

Most of the time they'll give you a talking to and let you go. But they will make you feel humiliated about it. And make you never want to do it again.

Some of them will press charges. But most places won't because to be honest, other than your admission, they don't have proof that you stole it and have nothing to give to the cops for proof.

    So you should be fine.

What state do you live in? How much was the bra? Depends on what your state considers a felony. It's very unlikely that they will press charges.

Unless it's like a $250 bra, I think they'll let you go. But don't take my word for it.

Your welcome. Good luck. Just be honest and MAKE SURE to tell them that you learned your lesson. Don't return it, pay for it.

What's your mom going to do if you refuse? I mean there's no proof you stole it, how did she find out?

She tricked me into telling her so now I'm just going to tell her I stole it from wal mart not Kohl's

If you tell her that, she'll try and make you return it to walmart and they'll know you didn't buy it from there. And then your mom will know you are lying (more). Like I said don't return it, pay for it. It will look much better to the people that have your fate in their hands.

OOOOooor... you could just say you stole it from a friend and tell your friend the story and set that up, make it sound terrible and make your friend pretend to be all mad at you... I mean if you want to completely get out of it but you might feel guilty.
But I would really just go return it, I highly doubt they'll do anything to you, you're young and stuff most people will take sympathy and just give you a guilt trip about it.

Also if you want to make it even easier on yourself you could call ahead and talk to the manager and tell him what happened and check out what's going to happen. Just maybe use *67 or something to block your #
