    Bad Tasting Ice cubes
Recently I moved into a condo. After a week or so I noticed bad smelling water when first turned on. I was so excited to have ice maker but the ice cubes taste horrible. The previous owner remodeled kitchen and put washer and dryer in a utility closet that is located next to the refrigerator that is next to the sink. Could the water be bad and have contaminants in it? If I leave clothes in washer for longer than 1 /2 hour my clothes get the same bad smell. Help! Any suggestions? I thought of having the water tested. I have home owner's warranty. I am so disappointed about the ice maker......

    Thanks your time is appreciated.

You may want to check the filter for the ice maker. It may have been there for years resulting in the awful smell/taste.

Gather water from every location in your condo. Put a pan of each in a row and smell each pan. Bet they are all the same and you water smells bad. Could be a high sulphur content or contamination but it did not come from the washer. If you are lucky you might get some relief with a water softner but wait for the test results. By the way, is this city water or local well water, I'm assuming city. Ask your water department about the smell and ask them to check for you.
