Yes and no. If you have sex before ovulation the sperm can live inside your body for a limited amount of days. If you ovulate while the sperm is still alive then yes you would stand a chance at becoming pregnant. Also if you have sex after ovulation while the egg is still alive you can also become pregnant. Basically every woman has fertile and non fertile times each month….some women are very fertile and others are not. If you have sex far enough away from ovulation you run a very very low chance of conceiving. It is hard to predict for sure when you will ovulate each month. So that low chance can turn in to a high one if you are not careful.

Well it depends on your meaning of the question...

Are you asking can you get pregnant if you don't ovulate, period?

    Or

Are you asking can you get pregnant if you have sex outside the window of ovulation?

If you are not ovulating, period... then of course your CANNOT get pregnant. If you are not releasing an egg, what is the sperm going to fertilize?

If you are having sex outside your ovulation window... yes, you can get pregnant anytime during your cycle. Women ovulate at different times... if varies from woman to woman and in the individual as well... for example, if you ovulate the 12th day of your cycle but go through some stressful times one month, the stress can delay your ovulation and you could ovulate on say the 18th day... and you think you ovulated on the 12th. Ovulation is unpredictable. Sperm can live up to 5 days in a fertile environment. That's gives plenty of time for them to hang around.
