Are you already friends with the girl in real life, or is it just someone you met while online? If it's someone local, or someone you already know, it's basically the same as asking over the phone. So go ahead, ask her out while you're talking to her online if it's easier for you.

It might be easier, but not that effective. Trust me, it's better if you ask her in person.

Lol if you're a shy guy then you it is easier. My boyfriend asked me out via email (we work together but he was to nervous to ask me in person). It doesn't matter which way you ask a person but how you ask you know what I mean? Word it right! My boyfriend actually beat around the bush asking me out and it surprised me a lot cause he was so shy but it was really cute and fun to be asked out like that. I say go for asking this chicke out online if you don't think you could any other way. Yes it's better in person but it might be better for her to imagine how you are acting the actually looking at a nervous shaking guy :P
