Renting a room to a friend, what kind of lease should I use?
I have a friend that needs a place to stay for 6 months until they move into a house. I am willing to rent him a room in my house for him & his wife in the meantime. I want us to remain friends, so I told him that we would write down everything ahead of time prior to his moving in so that we all agree on the terms.

My question - Is there a lease agreement that involves a landlord and tenant who live in the same house? I am specifically interested in lease agreements and roommate agreements. Also any advice would be helpful.

    Thanks!

    Hello David:

A lease agreement and a roommate agreement are the same. Go to one of your local business supply stores. They'll have some pre-printed leases. Pick one.
