I just got an acer aspire 1690 notebook(512mb,intel centrino pentium m,1.6ghz,60gb harddisk,dvd+cd rw) weeks ago and it freezes too often,I first thought it was software problem or fan problem but I have done all humanly possible 2 d best of my technical ability and it will just work for few hours and start freezing again.I am tired of this problem because I write programs and I have to manulally restart any time it freeze and I lose all unsaved information.pls someone should help me because I bought the laptop in UK and am now in NIGERIA where acer does not have an office.
The fans are working perfectly well en am just frustrated with the freezing.

If this is a new machine, contact Acer through their website, there could be a faulty batch of components etc.


What have you already tried (antivirus, antispyware etc)?
