    Puppy pooping in crate
My 7 mth old beagle poops in her crate every day while I'm at work. My grandmother goes over and lets her out twice during the day so she is only left for 4hrs at the most without being taken out to go to the bathroom. She's been to the vet and recently fixed, but the problen continues. Please help!

I don't have a good answer to this, and nobody else seems to either. My best answer is give the puppy proper care from the start, letting it have a clean environment from the day it is born. Since well cared puppies don't have such problems, I am afraid the cases here like yours come from poor care before you even got the puppy. If as a young puppy, it was forced to live in its filth, restoring its instinct for cleanliness is tough.

You could try shorter periods in the crate, not only taking it out for a break, but walking it around to stimulate a bowel movement that otherwise might come after it is back in the crate. Stress stimulates bowel movements too. Giving it a Kong filled with peanut butter may relieve the stress by distracting it. Praising it and giving it a treat when you come back to a clean crate will help too.
