We were just given written notice that the rent would increase $150.00 beginning November 1. I managed apartments for 15 yrs but that was 20 yrs ago but I remember we had to give 30 days notice before we could increase the rent. Not certain if this was also true in business rentals. We live in Arkansas.

It ALL depends on your lease. Commercial leases are not covered by your state landlord tenant act.

Is there a lease in effect? If not, then the landlord can raise the rent when he wants to. The notice requirement woiuld be for termination of the lease.
