Don't know of I'm asking right deprtment? My ex owes me £3000 I have it in writing on a pice of paper with his signature saying he will pay me back, it doesn't say in what time scale, but now he has dissapered, changed one number and won't talk? Answer any phone is their anything I can do?

Aside from hiring a private investigator and taking him to court, no, I don't think so. If you think hiring someone will be in your budget, 3000 is a lot of money, about $8500 CDN and the same in US. Even if you have it in writing, but you can't find the slime, then there is nothing I can suggest. Can't you track him down yourself ?

And a private investigator can only find out what is on record. Unless your X has utility bills, a bank account, employment, if he has truly gone underground, there is no magic private investigator site. Someone in his family has to know where he is and with any luck with share that with you. If not, how long has he been missing? Sometimes mail is forwarded and it might be worth a try.
