I am clueless. I tried to replace valve in bathroom tub faucet. It worked for a while, then when I turned faucet on water wouldn't come out. Took valve back out and noticed the washer and screw are missing. How did I screw this up. Any help is appreciated

Sounds like you didn't t8ighten the screw down tight enough or the threads could be stripped.but now the screw and washer are somewhere and must be found and replaced. Good luck, Tom
