    Do I have mono now?
My boyfriend has mono. He had it a week before we went out and he has had it for about 4 weeks now. Unfortunately we haven't been able to kiss yet cause I didn't want to catch it but last week wed. I had a piece of his candy bar after he bit off it and I forgot he had it and then I figured it was only a little tiny piece and I wouldn't get it. But today almost a week later I'm feeling like I might have it. I looked up the signs of mono and I feel tired [even though I had a lot of sleep this weekend], earlier my stomach hurt but that has went away, throughout school I got hot and sweaty then cold and kind of shaky and dizzy and I felt a little satiated. My friend felt my head and said I felt hot but I was cold so I looked at my temp when I got home and it was only 92.8 which I guess isn't bad I didn't have a fever. But I also have a loss of appetite. Those are some of the signs of mono am I right? But then why don't I have a sore throat like anyone else I know who got it[alot of my friends recently got it and I've been sure not to share anything with them nor had I before they got it] but they all had sore throats and other symptoms. Also my boyfriend is just getting over mono, if I get it and we do kiss will he get it back, or are we safe to kiss?[we haven't yet] I really need to know if I do have mono because if I do I know a few people who also will have gotten it... please get back to me asap!
    Thank you

See a doctor? That's really the only advice that can be given. A doctor will be able to answer your questions, perform further tests, etc.

Your best bet is to see a doctor, but if you can find your liver, feel it to see if it's swollen.
It should be somewhere just below your ribcage on your right side.
If it's not, it probably isn't Mono.
Regardless, you should still see your doctor.
For Mono it's a simple, almost painless blood test and it's not even that expensive in most places.
I recently had a gland infection that I believed to be Mono, and both are easily treated with antibiotics.

It is unlikely that you have infectous mononucleosis. The absence of sore throat and swollen glands would be the clincher. As for kissing him you could, now. Even if you have it he is not going to be re infected. Essentially just take some paracetamol if you have fever.
You may want to see the doc if it can be easily arranged but I do not think you need to panic.

The only way to know if you have Mono is to get diagnosed with Mono. The lab will only draw one tube of blood. A lot of time we mentally psyche ourselves into thinking we are sick, just because we know someone who is sick. When you have Mono though, you aren't just a little sleepy, you can barely even get out of bed. You would know if you have it.
