I have to do probation for 3 years but I heard that it can be done in 1 1/2 years is this true? And what do I need to do?

Ask your PO for the written policy and procedures manual for his department. In it, you'll find a section on early release, and what the criteria is. Meet the criteria, and make a request in writing, that you be released.
