Kitchen Faucet Sprayer On - Main Faucet not totally off
We moved into a new house - new construction. When we use the sprayer in the kitchen faucet, water comes out the sprayer as it is supposed to, but the water does not completely shut off in the main faucet. There is still a thin column of water coming out.

We had the faucet replaced, and this did not fix the problem. So the problem is not the faucet. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?

If it's not the faucet then the water pressure isn't strong enough to kick the diverter over to block off the spout. I have galvanized piping with a low cold water flow. I have the same problem until I merge the hot water to increase the pressure, Then the diverter closes and the seepage from the spout disappears . Regards, Tom

After the plumber installed a new faucet, and that didn't help, he then tried to increase the pressure from 60 psi to 70 psi. That did not help either
