Washer standpipe / Upstairs Bath Drain
I will try to make this question as simple as possible... My son was taking a bath upstairs and I was washing a load of clothes dowstairs, watching TV hear water in the laundry room, he is letting the water out of tub the same time washer is draining water from the rinse cycle, results: overflow supersize from washer drain standpipe, is this more than likely a clog or something more severe.. Thanks for the help

With today's more powerful washer pumps I'm getting a lot of complaints just like yours. Has anything overflowed since? My take on this is one of two things. 1) you have a partial clog in the drain that's causing a back uo **or**
    2) you have a older home with a 1 1/2" drain line and the powerful discharge from the washer plus the additional volume of water from the tub simply overpowered the system. If you've had no more backups I'm inclined to go with door number two. Good luck, Tom
