    Light brown discharge
I am about 5 weeks pregnant, and last Saturday, Oct. 6, I noticed a light brown discharge. I'm not having any cramps at all. Is it implantation, or am I having a miscarriage?

    Very Scared,
    Danielle

    Myth
I don't think that it's a miscarriage. A light brown coloring is about the color of old blood. I would go to the dr and ask him/her to look for any possible infections.

It wouldn't be implantation bleeding... that happens before you would test positive for pregnancy. Once the egg attaches to the uterine linging your body starts producing HcG. So you are past that point.

I agree with Myth, and don't think that it is a miscarriage... are you having any other symptoms aside from the discharge?

I would call your doctor and get checked out just to be safe :)

Brown blood means old blood. Typically the blood that causes the need for concern, is new bright red blood. Its not uncommon to have a small amount of bleeding particularly in the beginning/early of pregnancy. Often times it can occur after sex, as the cervix/vagina are more engorged/sensitive from the extra blood flow that accompanies pregnancy. Any and all bleeding should be reported to your doctor, however, so make sure you mention it to your doctor at your next visit, if not sooner. If you experience pain, increased bleeding or passing of tissue, it is time to get to the hospital. Good luck

Hi, all above are correct, I don't want to scare you last week I too found out I was pregnant, and sadly only 5 days later I had a light brown discharge no pain nothing didn't even realize, only I knew , I never felt pregnant any more, I rang doc straight away he told me to do a test and within an hour it was negative and I knew I had lost it, I was devastated, I really hope this is not the case for yourself and wish you all the luck, I did after two hours bleed properly but still no pain and I have now finished. All the best

    Hey there,

I hope its not the same but 6 weeks into my pregnancy I had some brown light discharge. 1 week later I miscarried. Its not the same for everyone and there are other causes but phoneyour GP or early pregnancy unit and ask them to see you. They will do some blood tests and can tell you what is likely to happen. It's a scarey time but hopefully you are one of those lucky women who just have a cervical erosion or a bit of infection and all proceeds well with your pregnancy. Good lick. You are not alone!!
