    AC coils freezing up
At the beginning of the summer of our new house we had our ac/heat pump serviced. It was explained to have been installed and had a leak. (It is a new outside unit but inside in 12 years old) The pipe was soddered and worked fine for a couple of months. At that time the inside coils froze up and the fan did not work on the inside. We had the same service person check the pressure - all was well. He replaced the relay switch and motor. It has worked for 1 month and now is freezing up again on the inside. I do not hear the inside motor click on - Strange thing is the when in heat mode the fan turned on?? Do I call back the same person, replace the whole unit? Any ideas?

It could be low on refrigerant again or one of the parts he replaced could have went bad. The same person should be called back because if it is any of the parts he replaced it should be fixed for free.

I'm no expert but I had problem with my outside pipe freezing up. I got a Pro this year. First, check the coils are cleaned-no debris, Next, have clean filters inside, Third-check freon. My technician then checked the amp on my fan motor (in the air handler) was good. But froze again, So he's 95% sure it's the SEQUENCER in the air handler, it tells the fan motor to kick on (a small relay 15-20$) . If that not it, then it's the thermostat.
