I have a 2001 Honda civic that just the other day the wipers started acting up on me. They sometimes will not go off. With the switch in the off position they stay going. They stutter at the bottom like they want to stop but then the swipe again. When this is happening the intermittent setting does the same thing. The 2 continuous setting work fine though. Then after a few min they start working fine. A few min more and they act up again. Is there a wiper control module or relay that might be bad? I don’t want to bring it to the dealer and pay an arm and a leg if its something I can just plug in and replace.

I just looked into my '90 Civic Service Manual, searching for info about this problem.

There is an intermittent wiper relay under the dash. Try looking for it.

Manual suggests that if you have problems like yours, that wiper switch or the wiper relay might be bad.

I am not familiar with Hondas newer than '91, so I cannot give you any more specific information.
