    How do you solve this problem using Algebraic Elimination

    5x-8y=12
    10x-16y=24:confused:

    well you need either the Y's or the X's to cancel out so lets do that:

    5x-8y=12 ---------> -2(5x-8y=12) ---------> -10x+16y=-24
    10x-16y=24 -------------------> + 10x-16y=24
    0+0=0
    That means there are infinite solutions and it is a dependent
