OK, I want to put a bathroom in my basement, and I have the cast iron pipe running into the floor of it. I have a drain behind my washer and dryer, and I also have what looks like a drain with a cap on it baside of the washer. Now, I want to put the toilet about 8 to 10 feet away from this drain, on the other side of my dryer. Is there a way that I can do this without tearing up the floor, and I don't have the headroom to raise the floor as it is about 6' 7" now to the floor joist. I need some input on this, because I have 3 women living in a 5 person household, and only one bathroom :eek:! Also, I want a sink and shower in there also.

Sorry! Ya just can't make a omelet without breaking eggs and you can't rough in for a bathroom group without breaking up some cement. You will have to locate the main and cut a wye or a combo in to pick up your bathroom group. From there it goes like this. Toilet connects to sewer main or the stack vent. Lavatory connects to toilet drain and runs a vent off the top the stubout tee out the roof or revents back into a dry vent in the attic.. The toilet wet vents through the lavatory vent and the tub/shower connects to the lavatory drain and is wet vented by it. This is a normal rough in and is acceptable both by local and state codes and also The Standard Plumbing Code Book in 90 percent of the country. Check your local codes.to make sure you're not in the excluded 10 percent.. The vent off the lavatory may be run out the roof or revented back into a dry vent in the attic or if you're reventing back into a fixtures dry vent you must make your connection at least 6 inches over that fixtures flood rim.
