    Thumps in the night
We replaced a leaking pressure regulator yesterday. Now every time we use the water, the pipes thump very loudly and it acts as if there is air in the lines. Any ideas?

Does this "thump" happen when you shut off a faucet? Please explain farther. Tom

    Tom,

After we shut off the faucet or whatever is being used, the thumps continue until the water stops flowing through the pipes.

Then this would be a drainage problem and not water hammer? Tom
