    Grandparent custody
 My husband and I have custody of 1 grandchild, since 6 mo. She is now 8 1/2 . We have full legal and physical custody.. now I had to call child protection on 2nd grandchilds mom. Mother came drunk, drug para. In car and no car seat. Baby is 11 mo. I moved her car so she would not drive that way . I was told to think about starting custody proceedings now. Babies father is incarcerated. For 14 mo. What is the best way to proceed. 1st grand was turned over to us by mother.:child protection is urine testing mother.

Once CPS gets involved it is essentially their case. Inform them that you are willing and able to take custody of this grandchild. Now if they don't cooperate with you then go straight to Family Court and name the mother and CPS as co-defendants.
