My 6 month old only drinks 2-3 bottles a day
My 6 month old only weighs 7kg he usually has 4 230 ml bottles a day and 1 1/2 to 2 tins of food a day but he has just dropped down to 2 -3 bottles a day if I'm lucky I took him to my health clinic and she said that he needs more milk but he just won't have it I've tried to put it in his solids but he still won't have it what should I do he has a lot of milky things to eat because he is only drinking 2-3 bottles so I thought that might help like it might be nearly as good as giving him 4 bottles does that sound OK I'm really stuck

He only weighs 15 pounds (American), how much did he weigh when he was born? Was he full term?

Just a few questions before we go on.

He will be fine, but he needs more nourishment. At 6 months the baby should weigh double his birthweight, he is there. At one year he should triple his birthweight. This is the standard.

He is, however, not receiving enough nourishment. As it seems you are in the UK I don't know what kind of solids you feed over there. You may need to cut back his solids and provide the formula. It takes fewer calories to burn the formula than it does the solids. So, he would gain more with strictly formula.

He'll be fine hun, are you on a schedule? If so, what is the schedule?

I am actually from tasmania I feed him a bottle at 7 in the morning then he has a full tub of youghurt or cereal or custard at 10.30 11 he used to have a bottle 1/2 hour after his solids but he doesn't want it anymore then he has a bottle at 3 then a tin of vegies at 5-5.30 then a bottle at 8 then he goes to bed plus he has biscuits and juice in between. But he will not have that fourth bottle he screams at me and squirms around.

Sounds like me when I was a baby. Hated milk. Still do.

Well its not like he's starving himself. The doctors say babies know when they're hungry and when they aren't. My daughter went from 2 ouncesow at birth to 3ounces for like a day and then 4ounces every 2 hours when she was only 2 weeks old. When she was just at a month old she was drinking 6 ounces even my doctor couldn't believe it but she's gaining normally and not throwing it up. She went back down to 4ounces again and she's 2 months now. She was 7'7 when she was born but was discharged from the hospital at 6'13 so she wasn't that big. Lol my little chunk weighs 12lbs now she's not to far behind your little man.
