Converting toilet closet for shower pan drain
I have a distribution warehouse where I want to install a shower over a existing toilet drain. I was thinking of a shower pan with a off set drain directly over the toilet sewage line. Is this possible? If possible what type of connection is code and what problems may I run into.

    Thank You, Mr Grumpy

    Thank You, Mr Grumpy

To install a shower is possible in that location. You'll have to either raise and reduce to a 2" drain and provide a p-trap for new shower pan or jackhammer floor re-tie into plumbing with right type and size fittings bringing out 2" drain to shower pan. Remember that toilet/ closet has a built in water seal and drain for toilet dose not have a p-trap/water seal. Also you'll have to have the right slop for drain.

As I understand it you wish to mount a shower pan over a closet bend and connect direct. YOU CAN'T DO THAT! Hillman was bang on when he said a "P" trap will have to be added and the pipe reduced to two inches. What he neglected to mention was the vent that you'll have to run for your shower. This project just keeps getting more complicated doesn't it? Regards, Tom
