    Plumbing - Changing a Diverter
How do I change a clogged diverter? When I turn my kitchen faucet on, it takes a couple of seconds for water to come out. I don't hear any noise in my pipes and I had this problem once before.

What makes you think you have a clogged diverter? This may be as simple as a plugged screen or debris in the mixer. Can you tell us more about the faucet, brand, model?

I don't know the brand for sure. There is nothing on it to tell me. But I replaced the tip (screen part that screws on the end of the faucet) and it's still doing the same thing. It could be debris clogging it. I had a neighbor help me w/something a couple of weeks ago and some debris came out but maybe there is more. How would I find that out or get it out?

Congratulations! You've just told us what's wrong with your faucet. Shut the water off under the sink and remove the handle and pull the cartridge. Check and clean the inlet ports on the cartridge. Before you button up place a pot over the open valve and turn the water back on to flush out the supplies and valve body. Reassemble and test, good luck, Tom
