    Disable Father owes Mother Arrears
Will I receive my $20,000 due me from the father's Social Security Disablity lumpsum? My venue is Union County, New Jersey. I never was married to him. Our daughter became disabled as a minor. He is married and has two children. He also owes his 1st wift arrears. Please help me to understand.

Generally Social Security is not subject to garnishment If Social Security is his only source of income then he obviously doesn't really have the means to pay any substantial child support. The fact that he has other children complicates things as well. About the only thing you may be able to realistically do is place a lien on any real assets he may own. That could be a way of getting your $20,000 Other than that, from the sound of things you're probably out of luck, unfortunately.
