    Watts to volts
    How many volts are needed to wire several fixtures that total 540 watts. Will a 20 amp breaker handel this.

    I think you mean how many amps, not how many volts. A load of 540 watts will pull about 5 amps of current, so yes, a 20 amp breaker is more than sufficient.

    That isn't how it works. Volts tend to be fixed, 120, 240, etc. For the usual 120 volt circuit, 540 watts would only draw 4.5 amps, well within the capacity of a 20 amp breaker.

    Watts = Volts x Amps. Just do the math. The guys above did it for you. Thought you might like to know where there estimates came from.
