Do misdeamenors show up on criminal background checks in Tennessee and if so can that stop you from getting a nurses license?

Yes they do show up. I do not know the regulations on nursing, that may better be asked on the medical board

Hey there, I was just going through the same thing you did, I had a misdemeanor charge two years ago and was worried to death that it would show up on a backround check for this awesome job I worked really hard to get. They did the check and for some crazy reason it didn't show up and I got the job. Not saying it is going to happen in your case. And I asked a heck of a lot of people and they all said it would show up. Sometimes they make mistakes. Keep positive. Oh and save money on all those backround checks on the internet most of them don't work.

Oh yeah I also live in the Volunteer state.
