A few years ago I went to jail for petty theft. However, I did community service so that it would not show on my record, which turned my case to disturbance of the peace. In addition, a year later I filled a motion to terminate my probation early and to obtain employment. My case has NOW been dismissed. I have applied to a job that requires a clearance from the DOJ. Will I get a clearance?.

I don't know. The word "clearance" doesn't mean very much. Are you applying to be a cop?? They'll probably find out about it. At least I HOPE they investigate cops that well. Will they "clear" you to work?? That depends.

I wasn't very much help, but you didn't really ask a question that can be answered.

Well I'm applying for a position at an local mental health facility. I'm assuming since my case was dismissed for shop lifting that I will get a clearance.
