    Lip piercing?
Hey i want to get a new piercing and i have this damn urge to have it on my lip :) yeah i was wondering what people have done and whether they think it looks good. Im not sure whether to have it on the side or which side for that matter. Or whether i should have a labret piercing? Im a girl btw and im not..erm...stereotypical in any way so it doesnt really have to fit in with any image...and um one last thing, what's the pain like? Ive had a cartilage done and that was fine so as long as it doesnt hurt too much more than that.

About the pain, like I tell everyone, it all depends on your tolerance for pain. What may not hurt me, might hurt you, and vice versa. Everyone reacts to piercings differently, and everyone reacts to each different type of piercing differently. You really won't know how it'll feel until you get it done. I can say it didn't hurt me, but that may not apply to you, you know what I mean?

Now if you are only wanting one single piercing, I would recommend the labret. This is just my opinion, but when someone pierces only one side of their lip, it doesn't look right; it looks sort of off balance. Now if you would be willing to get 2 different piercings, then you can get one on each side of your lip (sometimes referred to as "snakebites") and that will look much more even.

There are also other types of lip piercings, such as the Medusa and the "Ashley" piercing. You can Google those if you'd like to see pictures of them.

Good luck with whatever you decide! :)

I got mine done last night (DIY, but I highly sugest you get it done professionally) and I Love it! I got it done on my right side and I have a horseshoe loop in it (circular barbell) but the balls are really super tiny, so its really cute. Its more towards the middle than most peoples, but that's because later on I'm getting spiderbites (2 on the same side) Any way I definitely think you should do it.

I think the middle of your lip is the cutest though, with a cute little diamond labret post, or even a loop. The middle looks good on most people, but if you get it done on the side you have to have the right kind of face for it, other wise it looks bad. The first time I did mine I had really ugly jewelry in it ( a horseshoe with really big pink balls... lol that sounds weird!) and I didn't have anything to change it to, so I took it out and the next day (yesterday) bought a new ring, and re-did it! Lol, just make sure the ring you pic out is the one you want!

About the pain, for me it wasn't that bad at all. To tell you the truth, my cartlidge hurt more. It hurt a little bit more than my belly button. So for me it was really just a pinch, and hurt less the 2nd time. But for everyone its different. Don't let the fear of the pain stop ypou from getting it though, because it only lasts a couple seconds, and is well worth the pain.

Im sure whatever you get will look great! Good luck :D let me know how it turns out

Well I had mine done a while back on the right side of my lip didn't really hurt it hurt a little worse than a normal ear piercing but I also had a labret before that which I thought hurt pretty damn bad but I was forced to take it out because it rubbed my gums to bad that's the downside of a labret if your piercer misplaces it just a little it will rub your gums and cause your gums to erode so just be careful if you decide to get a labret and use captives not labret rings/barbells because they tend to rub your gums worst

There's really no pain to having your lip done. I've done my own twice (snakebites) and really its doesn't hurt. If your doing it yourself make sure your vey precise and sterile. But other than that really it's almost no pain the worst part is the popping feeling when the needle punctures the outter layer of skin but really on a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 1-2 honestly.
