I have a sixteen year daughter who says she hates me. We got into a huge fight and I had her go to my parents house cause somebody would have got hurt. I can't understand why she walks around our house like she is the most misserable girl on earth. She swears at me all the time she is so nasty.did I make a mistake having her go to my parents? Please help.michele

I am having that problem with my fourth child who is 15 all of my children went through that faze but if you raised them right they will come back around in time.

Oh lord. I am 26, so my memory of that time is still relatively fresh. Life sucks at 16! Girls are sooooo mean to each other. Boys are... well they're boys, and girls get annoyed by that, they want a "real boyfriend" and most high school boys are not at all interested in that kind of commitment. Moms get on your nerves. They embarrass you by just breathing. I was a rebellious teen. But I grew out of it, and now my mom & I get along great. We have since I was about 19. But let me say this, I KNOW I could never live with my mom again, even to this day. We would kill each other! Just give her some space, but don't let her get away with outrageous stuff, or then it'll be a "game" to see how much more she can get away with. Pick your battles, let the little stuff slide once in a while. Letting her get out of the house (but in a supervised environement like grandma's) was a good idea!

I cannot imagine having a child that would cuss at me. That is completely unacceptable. Yeah you did right. If she cannot respect you, she needs to go. Has she always cussed at you?
Teenagers acting funky is one thing, disrespecting you and cussing at you is no small thing.

Take an honest look in your backround together- if you have an anger issue, something like that then maybe you need to step up to the plate and apologize

Me being sixteen I'm going to tell you when me and my mother get into big arguments I need my space for hours my temper is very bad and I have crazy-ness in my blood but you wer'nt wrong by sending her away there fore she can clear her mind and think about what just happened

Im 16 now and I have a great relationship with my mum, she's great to me although she is really really strict, but I do get to go out a lot.
What I've seen is that mother and sons get on and dads and daughters get along is there a father figure in the house hold that could maybe talk to her and get her to settle down a little ?
