    Will it hurt if.
Ok so I am 14 years old and I have my lip pierced and both my ears done. I pierced my lip myself and it healed great after about 3 weeks. I am looking to get my left cartilage pierced. The one with the barbell going through two parts of my ear. If I can handle a lip can I handle this? HELP!

You are referring to the Industrial, and it is more of a shock than the lip piercing. I have it, and while it didn't really hurt to get it done, it "opened my eyes" so to speak. It was sort of a shock.

But with any piercing, it all depends on your tolerance for pain. I can honestly say that even though the Industrial didn't hurt me, it may hurt others. It all just depends on your tolerance for pain.

It's the industrial. Mine didn't hurt that bad but I also have a high tolerance for pain. Its so cute though. If you haven't had a cartlidge piercing it might hurt. Lol its rated 10 on the pain scale

My industrial hurt a lot getting done. But I have low pain tolerance. However please know that it's the most problematic piercing so you need to take really good care of it and make sure it stays clean. I have a picture of mine after about 3 weeks if you want to see what it looks like

I'm shocked that no one added that it would NOT be a good idea to do any more piercings by yourself unless you're a qualified piercer with sterile instruments and asceptic technique.

Most facial peircings are a piece of cake compared to ear piercings, as odd as they may sound. The industrial has a HIGH rejection rate, meaning that your body may not accept the titanium/jewelry, and cause blowouts in the ear. I've seen it happen! Just think it thoroughly, only get something if you will take care of it. You should wear your hair back for about 2 weeks, and avoid touching it. You have no idea how much oil your hair carries, nor the bacteria on your hands that can easily infect it!

    Good luck on your decision!
