    Security deposits
I live in north east Pa. and have lived in the same house for the past fourteen years. As my lease ran out this month I met with the owners daughter who has informed me that my rent was going up fron $700.00 dollars a month to $1000.00 a month and she tells me that I have to make up the difference in the security deposit. Is this legal?

According to PA law Title 68, Section 250.511a.(d), the landlord cannot increase the amount of the security deposit to conform with an increase in rent if you have been in possession of the premises for 5 years or more.

You can see the applicable law at ESCROW FUNDS LIMITED
