I,have a bunch of green tomatoes that I,want to ripen,someone mentioned wrapping them in newspaper and setting them on a ledge in the sun,any other ideas would be appreciated!

I just stick mine in the window for a day or so
Might be too late now, but put a banana nearby... it gives off some sort of gas that causes fruit to ripen... ever notice if you have a fruit bowl and there's a banana in it... other fruit (if it lasts that long) goes off rather quick... hope it helps for next year... heard of putting them in a brown paper bag in fridge works, but haven't tried that... stick to the banana method

Shouldn't be a problem as bananas are one of my staples!

You can also use brown paper bags.
Just in case they don't turn red, nothing like a good fried green tomato
No probs... also another purpose for bananas... when you are munching them, save the skin, chop into little pieces and dig into the soil when u are planting roses... see, u like the bananas and the roses like the skins! Take careQuote:
