    Ripening green tomatoes inside
    Hi,
    I,have a bunch of green tomatoes that I,want to ripen,someone mentioned wrapping them in newspaper and setting them on a ledge in the sun,any other ideas would be appreciated!

    Might be too late now, but put a banana nearby... it gives off some sort of gas that causes fruit to ripen... ever notice if you have a fruit bowl and there's a banana in it... other fruit (if it lasts that long) goes off rather quick... hope it helps for next year... heard of putting them in a brown paper bag in fridge works, but haven't tried that... stick to the banana method

    Thanks for your idea,never heard of that one.
    Shouldn't be a problem as bananas are one of my staples!

    You can also use brown paper bags.

    No probs... also another purpose for bananas... when you are munching them, save the skin, chop into little pieces and dig into the soil when u are planting roses... see, u like the bananas and the roses like the skins! Take care
