I opened my dryer to stop it and several hours later when I tried to start it again it will not start. Turning the start knob makes a very quiet click. Have checked all power to the dryer avenues, nothing wrong there. Any suggestions?

Of course if you still have the part's book, look it up there.
I would check the door switch closely before tackling the timer switch. Good luck
Do not go ordering parts until you are certain what you need. Do some testing of parts, switches etc brfore spening mony for items that do not need replacing
Besides the door switch, there should be a relay that could be bad. There could be a bad connection in the power to the timer. I think suggesting replacing one of the most expensive parts without checking the others was a bad answer.
