    Opening links
    Could some one please help us, all of a sudden when I try to open a link I can't unless I right click and choose open link, before I just had to double click and it would open, also when I put in a CD I now have to go through my computer to be able to play it.:mad:

    Hi, I'm having the same problems with my computer and was wondering if you ever got it figured out. I have to right click and then choose open to get to links in Internet Explorer, but don't have that problem when I use Mozilla. Can anyone help us, please??

    OK, odds are that you have increased security in IE, or you have installed some toolbar or other (Google, Yahoo, Symantec, etc). Recommend you explore these (for the IE issue). Tools| Internet Options| Programs| Manage Addons Button. If this doesn't work, try: Tools|Internet Options| Advanced Tab| Reset Button - this WILL reset your IE to default settings... you will have to reset homepage, personalizations etc... but, it only MAY resolve your link issue. For the CD Autoplay issue; open "My Computer", right click on your CD/DVD Drive, select Properties| AutoPlay Tab... you will see several options here, but, look at what is initially selected - if it is "take no action" then you have found your problem (this is applicable to multiple possible file types so use the drop down menu to check all options)

    Thanks for your input, your suggestion solved my Autoplay problem. However, I still have the IE issue. I followed your suggestions and reset the default settings and checked the Addons, which are all enabled. The only toolbar I have installed is Google. Could that be causing the problem? Thanks again for your help.

    Yes, the Google toolbar could be doing this... you could disable it and see what happens. Some links (downloads and those which open a new window) are treated as pointing to a popup by these toolbars which have built in pop-up blockers. Give it a try and see what happens.

    Eureka!! I disabled the popup blocker and now the double click works like it is supposed to! Much thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it. Take care... I'd give you more good feedback, but it won't let me.
