It's a true story about the daughter of a Naval General or Captain (no, not The General's Daughter) stationed in Miami, who gets introduced to Fidel Castro, falls in love with him and has a child. When the child is born, they take him away from her and tell her that he has died. Meanwhile, the CIA is trying to get her to spy on Castro so that he can be assassinated. They even try to get her to kill him but she can't because she is still in love with him. In the end, she learns that Fidel has raised the boy and he has grown to become a pediatrician. She is allowed one look at him, then is banished from him and Cuba forever. Very sad.

The actress looks a little like Isabella Rossalini, if you know who that is, only younger.
