    Collecting Canadian debt in the US
    I am a Canadain living in the US with an outstanding Canadian student loan. I have had my first call from a Canadian collection agency. Can they collect in the US? What can they do to collect?
    Got an answer from ScottGem, Thank you, Any other comments or advise?? I'm new to US laws.

    Yes, they can, they will have to hire a local collector though.

    What legal means to stop wage garnishemnt of Canadaian debt when you live in the State?
    BK in both counties?
    Anything beside BK?
